Your contract is tired. You are getting a good service, you are getting a reasonable price, but are there better ways of running the operation? Are there better suppliers offering better joint communication?

With any supply chain operation, there’s always some improvement that can be made. As the mix of products and services changes, what started as an optimised supply chain can easily move away from that status.

This is just the time to have an independent review of the operation. this gives you a chance to draw up a list of joint ideas or targets that can drive efficiency in the operation. It’s also a chance to optimise costs.

A Rapid Diagnostic Review (RDR).

A Bisham RDR involves 3-5 people depending on the size and complexity of the operation. They will work on-site over 3 days and produce a presentation of the draft results on Day 3.

The Bisham team are not just consultants.

They have considerable experience as warehouse and transport operators and supply chain directors. Consequently, they quickly understand where changes to operating procedures, layouts and equipment, or the timing and accuracy of data exchange, planning and administration could aid the operation. The scope is vast:

  • Project Management
  • Software Development
  • Due Diligence
  • Service Levels
  • Outsourcing market and outsourcing relationships
  • Outsourcing Agreements
  • The Business Process
  • Business Strategy across all sectors
  • Intellectual Property
  • Legal Issues
  • Long-term and short-term objectives ….. to name but a few.

At the end of the process, a report is produced highlighting the key areas for improvement. It focuses on which are sub-optimizing the operation and which together can be reviewed to improve the service to customers. Equally important it highlights where you can reduce internal costs.

The Rapid Diagnostic Review is designed to engage both sets of management in a joint process. The benefits to the operation and the relationship come from the joint discussions about improvements and the timing of implementation on both sides.

It is not a process to highlight what has not been done. It can be part of the resetting of the total working relationships.
